Responsibilities

• Under management direction, assign work schedules, following company requirements, to ensure quality and timely delivery of in-home services.
• Supervise and evaluate nursing and home caregivers; explain standards of performance expected and maintain an evaluation system.
• Assist with identifying educational needs for staff and recommend in-service/development programs to train workers in proper procedures and functions.
• Ensure staff activities and records adhere to regulatory requirements and recommend improvements to guarantee established standards in areas such as cleanliness and health maintenance are maintained to assure a high quality of service and patient satisfaction.
• Provide any necessary specialized training and guidance to caregivers working in Chinese-speaking homes, utilizing the ability to effectively communicate with patients and their families as well as the caregivers assigned to care for them.
• Resolve customer complaints regarding caregiver performance or services rendered.
• Complete initial assessments of patients and their families to determine home care needs.
• Obtain and advise in-home nursing and caregivers of physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es).
• Regularly re-evaluate patient in-home nursing and home care needs.
• Advise on nursing diagnosis and incorporate therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions to be followed and make necessary revisions as patient status and needs change, including the patient and the family in the planning process.
• Oversee compliance of HHAs and LVN’s in areas of infection control practices and mandatory education requirements.
